The charter of the palaver tree
SAPIENTIA AFRICA is a media outlet and communication platform, a modern palaver tree for educating the people. Not a blog: a meeting place. Founded on October 16, 2026 in Douala, Cameroon.
The founding charter was written in French; this English version is a translation.
Founding philosophy
Most of its writers are its readers. A reader who comments three times with sources becomes a writer. Knowledge grows from the people and returns to them.
Art. 1 Vision
Educating the people through calm debate, historical memory, science and critical thinking.
Art. 2 Who can write?
Any regular, rigorous reader who cites sources and accepts being contradicted.
Art. 3 Topics
Art. 4 A four-step method
- Listen: gather what people say.
- Source: check with Allotey, Eboussi Boulaga, Chinweizu and African sources.
- Debate: under the tree, without contempt, in French, English, Pidgin and national languages.
- Pass on: make the complex simple to educate the people.
Art. 5 Commitment
I commit to raising the debate.
Rules
- No tribal slurs, no contempt.
- Sources are required.
- Respect the other as a potential ancestor.
- Education before audience.
Languages and review
Sapientia Africa publishes in French and English. Every contribution is reviewed before publication: the editors approve it, ask for changes, or decline it with a stated reason. Each author remains responsible for their words and sources.
