The Overhaul of Education
Towards a Pan-African model. A special report published in 4 parts, in English and French.
Editor’s note
Since 2014, Sapientia Africa has offered rooted education for the people. This report follows our line: learning to read, money and currency, the palaver tree, political debate, general knowledge, civics, economics and law. We set it out in 4 parts that can be published separately, suited to Cameroon and to Africa as a whole.
The 4 parts — bilingual Cameroon
The assessment — School against Africa?
Our schools train for economies that do not exist at home. Three disconnections we must face.
The common core (ages 6-15)
Mandatory trilingualism, life mathematics, decolonised history and a farming plot in every school.
Guiding secondary school — From job to work
Three high schools of equal standing, half classroom and half cooperative, and a baccalaureate that becomes the defence of a real work.
Sovereign higher education and the teacher
New chairs for sovereignty, a better pay scale to keep teachers, and a proposed timeline.
