Welcome under the palaver tree

Why Sapientia Africa opens its pages to its readers, and how you can speak up in turn.

The charter of the palaver tree sets a simple rule: most of the writers are its readers. Whoever reads today writes tomorrow.

How to contribute

Choose a topic, write your text in English or French, cite your sources. The editors review your article before it is published. Every Sunday at 7 pm, the Question of the week also opens the palaver: answer under the question, and the best answers become articles.

The method

  • Listen: set out the facts before the opinion.
  • Source: every claim has its reference.
  • Debate: accept contradiction, without insults.
  • Pass on: end with what anyone can do with it.

I commit to raising the debate.

The charter asks us to accept contradiction. Write a sourced response: after review it will be published below this article.

The palaver

Debate ideas, not origins. Cite your sources. Every answer is checked by an automated assistant, then reviewed; calls to violence or hatred are removed.
